Eating Breakfast Makes a Difference
- Participating in school breakfast, school lunch and/or food stamps protects low-income girls from becoming overweight. [1]

Kids Who Eat School Breakfast Eat More Nutritious Food

- California kids who ate school breakfast were more than twice as likely to eat a serving of fruits or vegetables as kids who made their own breakfast and 1½ times as likely to do so as kids whose parents made breakfast for them. [5]
- In California, 37% who ate breakfast at school met the “5-A-Day” goal, compared to only 17% of kids who did not eat a school breakfast. [6]
